The Mundaneum is open from Wednesday to Sunday.
Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 10am to 5pm. Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 6pm. The Mundaneum is closed on Monday and Tuesday.
No, it is not necessary to book for a regular self-guided visit. For conferences, events, symposiums, and guided tours: it is mandatory to book via the online agenda or by phone.
You can purchase a simple ticket that gives you access to the museum space. You can also book as a group for a guided tour. The Mundaneum offers several options, to be seen here.
It takes about 2 hours to visit the permanent exhibition and the temporary exhibition.
The Mundaneum does not have parking spaces. You can visit the website of the city of Mons to get information about available parking nearby and the rates.
A bicycle parking is available right in front of the Mundaneum.
No. Only assistance dogs are allowed.
It depends on the exhibitions, make sure to check at the beginning of the tour and if in doubt, ask a receptionist. In any case, flash photography is prohibited as it damages the displayed pieces.
Yes, it’s free!
Yes. All our exhibitions are accessible to people with reduced mobility. Elevators provide access to the floors and wheelchairs are available.

Yes, the Mundaneum is a member of MuseumPassMusées. You just need to present it at the reception.
We recommend visiting the museum from the age of 6. A family tour is available at the reception. However, young children are welcome.
From Wednesday to Friday until 5pm. On Saturday and Sunday until 6pm. If you wish to visit our exhibitions, we advise you not to arrive after 4pm on weekdays and 5pm on weekends.
Yes, like most museums, the Mundaneum is free on the first Sunday of each month.
Yes, the cloakroom is free.
It is forbidden to enter the exhibitions with a backpack. Secure lockers are provided for this purpose.
It is forbidden to drink or eat in the exhibition halls.
As light is a source of deterioration for the exhibited pieces, flash photography is prohibited. Umbrellas must be deposited at the cloakroom.
Light is a deteriorating agent for paper. For conservation reasons, brightness is therefore carefully controlled.

A guided group tour costs 85 euros for the guide, plus 2 euros per person. This price is reduced to 1.25 euros for students.
Finally, there is a combined offer called “Collectionneurs d’idées”. For 120 euros, you can visit the Mundaneum and the Maison Losseau, located on the same street.
The guided tours are available in French, English, and Dutch.
For the comfort of the group and the guide, we accept groups of up to 25 people. Beyond that, a second guide is required.

No. The drawers of the Universal Bibliographic Repertory are classified at UNESCO. It is therefore forbidden to open them for conservation reasons.
It is forbidden to drink and eat in the exhibitions but the Utopia room, as well as the courtyard, are at your disposal for this purpose. In the Utopia room, you will find a free water fountain and a paid coffee machine.
Yes, you can access the courtyard and garden for free during the museum’s opening hours. The entrance is through Rue de Nimy.
Mons is a very touristy city. There are many other museums and places to visit. We recommend visiting the website www.visitmons.be.
Yes, entry is free for people wishing to study at the Mundaneum. Depending on the availability of the spaces, you can either settle in the educational area or in the Utopia room. Please approach the reception agents to be guided.
The shop is open during the museum’s opening hours. It is accessible without an entrance ticket.
